Mangaluru, Aug 19: The Mangaluru branch of St Milagres Credit Sauharda Cooperative Limited celebrated Independence Day in a unique way at St Agnes special school, Mangaluru. MLA J R Lobo distributed bed sheets for daily use and snacks to 315 school children.
Lobo said that the cooperative is being commended for pro society work such as this. “May the organization earn more profit, indulge in such programmes and be successful,” he said.
Sr Maria Anitha said that they were glad that the cooperative has held such noble programme with them after a long time. “The children in the school will be grateful for forever,” she said.
School principal Sr Shruthi, Lions Club president C S Bhandary, KSRTC director C K Sudheer, cooperative development manager Mohammed Iqbal Sheikh and staff were present.

We are glad to share that Souhardha Federation Director, Shri. Sanjeev Mahajan and his entire team members from Gulbarga District had a visit to St. Milagres Credit Souhardha Co-op ltd Head office on 20 Sept 2018 for a study tour and they were very much impressed by the steady growth and systematic way of handling all 80 Branches spread across different 9 Districts in Karnataka. They had a small interaction with each and every section at our Head office followed by a detailed conversation with our Managing Director Mr. George Fernandes, Senior Internal Auditor Mr. B V Nayak, Recovery Officer Mr. Arvind Nayak, Head office Manager Mrs. Rajeshwari Raikar, Administrative Officer Mr.Vivekanand Thakarkar, VAS Section Officer Mr. Vinayak Ingle,IT Section Officer Mr.Royan Fernandes,Recovery section staff Mr Chinmay Hegde and also with other section staff members. Overall the visit was very fruitful & successful one and they were all delighted to visit our Co-operative.

During the 22 nd Federation day celebration, the Federation of Konkani Catholic Association, felicitated the achievers who have made a mark in different sectors. Kalluru Education Trust celebrated its 10th, Anniversary In Jila Rangamandir, Karwar. On this special occasion, our Managing Director Shri George Fernandes was honored as “Sahakara Ratna Prashasti” for his achievement in Co-operative sector.
A study tour that was conducted on 4-12-2019 for the 21 Branch Managers of Uttar Kannada belt. The tour was conducted first in Joida , though it is a remote area i.e the branch with only 4 staff members (including the Manager) they had shown deposit growth of 7.58 Crore as on 02-12-2019 , even the federation people were amazed by their performance. Further the tour continued to Dandeli.
Dandeli Branch has very congested space and furnishing is not done also most of the customers are paper mill employee’s i.e. middle class salary earners rather than resident customers. But inspite of all this they have achieved the deposit of 23.72 Cr as on 02-12-2019 which is commendable.
Nextly Haliyal Branch at present from April till date is handled by a bachelor lady Branch Manager and she has hiked the deposit figure by 3.24 Cr from April till 02-12-2019 and is a model to other Branches.
Later the tour continued to Murkwad branch being an agricultural area where paddy and cotton are the only source of income for people.But still within a short span of 1 year and 5 month the Manager has done hike of 3.52 Cr which is fabulous achievement. Therefore Murkwad and Haliyal Manager were honored for their present year achievement.
The Devikere branch which is second branch in sirsi town is been handled by married lady Mrs. Tejaswini . Within a short span of 11 months in such a petty shop building she managed to accumulate deposit of 4.43 Crores.
The Development Manager Mr.Vinod Madival was also congratulated in the function because 4 branches of his division has achieved more than 20 Cr of deposit i.e Dandeli, Haliyal, Mundgod and Sirsi. Apart from this Dandeli and Haliyal both the branches rank 3 rd and 4 th position among the overall branch deposit growth position and there is a competitive spirit among both the branches.
The Management is proud and wishes them good luck and by looking at their efforts even other branches must take up the challenge to achieve success in the same way in all aspects for a successful functioning of Branch. Finally the tour was completed and it was accompanied by our Managing Director and Planning Officer with 21 Branch Managers from Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Manki, Balkur, Honnavar, Hadinbal, Samsi. Hosad, Chandavar, Kumta, Kumta-2, Mirjan, Ankola, Bhavekeri, Bhaskod, Aversa, Amadalli ,Nandangadda, Kadwad, Halidipur and Kasarkod.

A Proposal is put forward by our Managing Director for setting up a Multi Specialty Hospital in Uttar Kannada region. Uttar Kannada is a vast District with nearly about 1,437,169 with 12 talukas and 1312 Gram Panchayats. Hence the need of Multi Specialty Hospital to provide health care in case of regular check ups and emergencies is a must. We are hopeful that request will fall upon the authorities and the same will be sanctioned at the earliest.This was published 31st of july 2020 in Karavali Daily Newspaper, which has a daily Circulation more than 30,000.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Independence Day (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), Our Co-operative having 111 Branches across Karnataka, distributed 3000 Solapur Chadar to the physically handicapped students.
On 23-11-2022, at Saraswati Vidyalaya School Karwar, Sollapur Chadar and snacks were distributed among almost 75 beneficiaries. On the dais along with our Managing Director Mr. George Fernandes, Karwar Municipality President Dr Nitin Pikle, Rotary Club Paschim Assistant Governor Mr. Raju Patil and Municipality member Mr. Premanande Gunaga were present. The gathering was welcomed by Mr. Mahadev Rane. Later on our planning Officer Mrs. Seema Haldipur addressed the gathering. Mrs. Seema Haldipur while addressing the gather told that our societies motto is not just making profit but also sharing a part of the profit to aggrieved section of the society. She also motivated the children to study well, work hard and reach a position to be able to help others in future.
Later on Dr Nitin Pikle addressed the children, motivated them study well and make their parents proud. He also gave a beautiful example of one of his class mate, who used to stay in an ashram for his formal education and now he is leading his life as a successful entrepreneur. Highlighting point in his speech was “Never lie to your parents and Teachers”. He ended his speech by saying the children always to remember what Mr. George Fernandes has given them.
